With Go Fish Yourself, we created the first and only technology that allows anyone to astrally-project themselves into a mechanical fish.
Through the magic of Twitter, you were able make the fish come to life and speak out loud to the staff in the Art & Science studio. Two live web cams on the associated website let you hear the fish speak and see the staff’s reaction in real time.
Some people ended up spending hours and hours inhabiting the fish remotely, trying to get reactions from the staff. Some people came back to tweet at us every day, for literally weeks. From fish-themed puns and beat-boxing, to slam poetry and official company announcements, Billy said it all. (When a flash flood hit Toronto, he selflessly implored, “Save yourselves!”)
Sadly, after a busy year in the spotlight, something inside Billy burned out, and he swam away to the big bass pond in the sky. He is, now and forever, the one that got away.
