When TIFF hosted Fellini: Spectacular Obsessions at the TIFF Bell Lightbox, we were asked to drive awareness of the exhibition in the social media space—particularly among a younger demographic. The target audience was less likely to be familiar with the works of filmmaker Federico Fellini, so we needed to provide another way in to the subject; in short, we had to make the Fellini exhibition accessible.

Art & Science create a photo-sharing experience that blurred the lines between social media and the real world. Our Twitter-based solution allowed anyone to tweet a photo of their own “obsession” from their smartphone and see a “Fellini-fied” version immediately projected on the wall in the TIFF Bell Lightbox atrium. These images were also shared in a gallery on Facebook, and images could also be uploaded via Facebook.
